Greetings Alumni and Friends!
The first Inshore Fishing Tournament was a success in spite of windy conditions. Twenty-fishermen participated in this first ever event. They enjoyed the event so much, they asked for another! We are also excited that just under $3,000 was collected in profit from the event. All of the proceeds will go to benefit the JCJC Foundation's scholarships.
THANK YOU!!! to our sponsors, fishermen, Mary Walker Marina, and to the ladies who helped coordinate the event!
Because this went so well, we are exploring the possibility of holding a fishing tournament in the fall and spring.  So, keep your fishing poles handy!
As we finish football and soccer seasons, Basketball season begins!  We hope to see you at our upcoming Bobcat Club gathering in January if not sooner!

Until next time......Go Bobcats!!

Vice President of Advancement
Executive Director of Alumni and Foundation

The Foundation gave Mike McClellan a specially made chair in honor of his 25 years on the Board of Trustees at the official building dedication of McClellan Hall, during Homecoming Festivities.  Charlie Garretson, VP of Advancement and the Executive Director of the Foundation Inc., presented the chair to Mike at the building dedication.

Honor Alumni
This year's Honor Alumni, 2006 JCJC graduate, Chris Hill, 1956 graduate and instructor, Anne Forde-Strickland and1962 JCJC graduate, Mike McClellan of Heidelberg are pictured during the football half-time presentation recognizing their accomplishments.  (VP of Advancement and Exec. Dir. of the Foundation, Charlie Garrestson assisted Mrs. Strickland on the field.)
Homecoming festivities kicked off with a banquet in their honor and ended with the football game that didn't quite turn out like we had hoped.  To read the story about the the three JCJC Honor Alumni, click on the link: JCJC Honor Alumni 2015.

McClellan Hall

Recent graduates of JCJC knew the building as the Mathematics Center, those a little older remember the building as one that housed everything from visiting athletic teams, National Guard units, the maintenance department and vocational programs. Now the remodeled building, originally constructed in 1948 using Army surplus materials, has a new name and new "residents." McClellan Hall is the new home to the Marketing and Recruiting departments.
JCJC President, Dr. Jesse Smith decided this building, which sees every potential student taking a tour, as well as current Journalism students and "news-makers," should be named after one of the college's leaders who made a
big impact on the college and community. Former Board of Trustees Chairman and 2015 Honor Alumnus, Mike McClellan said he was shocked by the decision since he expressly told Dr. Smith not to make a "big deal" after he retired from serving on the Board.  To read the entire story, click on the link: McClellan Hall named in honor of former Board of Trustees Chair

PRVEPA Scholars
Forty-six JCJC students, including the JCJC students who are pictured, Caitlyn Oliphant, Malachi Crabtree and Anna Wilks, each received $975 in scholarship money from Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association's "Round Up for Education Scholar's Program." The program is only in its third year, but more than 550-community college students have benefited from the generosity of the PRVEPA members who decide to round off their bill to the closest dollar.

 Remember When...

in 1975 when JCJC students elected Robin Robinson as the first female President of the Student Government Association? Joe David Nichols was VP and Debbie Hinton was the secretary.  Robin and Joe would also be voted as

King and Queen of Homecoming!
