2015 Board Installed

The SNICC 2015 Board of Directors was sworn in January 9 at the Red Rock Country Club -- and three days later eve rything changed.
New President Mike Teemant was offered a position in Fernley, NV near boardinstall2015 Reno and has accepted.  That made Steve DiGiovanni as President and everyone else moved up to a position they were not anticipating until 2016.
"It was a bit of a surprise," said DiGiovanni," but we met immediately and got everything together quickly.  And we were in the process of hiring an executive director to help us and the timing of that was perfect."
The new Board is President Steve DiGiovanni (Clark County), 1st VP Majid Pakniat (Henderson), 2nd VP vacant, Secretary-Treasurer Kevin McOsker (Clark County), Past President Al Ellis (Henderson), and at-large directors David Goldstein with Geotek and Nick Moriarty with JBA.
Bob Benedict
Benedict Returns as ED

Retired executive director Bob Benedict CAE (ret.) has agreed to return to the position to help guide SNICC into the future.
Benedict retired in mid-2012 but when we began a search for a new ED, he decided to apply for the part-time position. The Board unanimously voted to hire him and welcome him back.
"I am pleased to be returning and I look forward to serving all of the members of SNICC," he said.
Sam Palmer to Speak at April 9 Meeting

Sam Palmer, Assistant Director for the Clark County Department of Building and Fire Prevention Bureau in Las Vegas, will be the featured speaker at the SNICC luncheon April 9. His topic will be the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Palmer is a member of that board.
Palmer has oversight responsibilities for permitting, plans check, building and fire inspections, fire prevention activities, engineering, public response and code compliance issues for all occupied structures in Clark County.
