This Sunday in the Parlor: Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN)

Come visit with Becky Lanier, WHPC's Disaster Relief Coordinator to learn more about ADRN and how you can help families affected by the recent flooding in
our area.

Congregational Meeting

Sunday, July 10 at 10:45 a.m. to elect four at-large members to the Congregational Nominating Team. Please make plans to stay after the 9:30 service, or come a little early for the 11:00 service, and participate in this meeting.

Join the Worship Tech Team!

We are looking for adults and/or high school students to join the rotation for running Sunday morning media. Training is provided and the program is not complicated. If you can click a mouse, you are qualified. Contact Emily Craven.

Ministry Architects Consulting

We value the youth of our church and are committed to building a sustainable youth ministry that will have a deep impact. That's why we are developing a game plan together and we want you to be a part of it!

We have invited Ministry Architects to visit us on June 28, 29, and 30. Ministry Architects will spend the majority of their time listening to a variety of groups within the church through focused listening groups. We hope to see participation in those groups from parents, volunteers, youth and people who just love our youth. We want your insight, your frustrations and your dreams to be heard.

After spending 2 days in these listening groups (and taking copious notes), the Ministry Architects team will hunker down, write a report and share with us what they've learned about the youth programs - including assets, challenges, and how we compare to youth ministries around the country - and where it seems that God might be taking us next. On June 30 at 6:00 pm in the Dining hall the report will be presented to the congregation, laying out the specific recommendations and a blueprint for how to move forward. Below is our schedule for listening groups and we would love for your voice to be heard! If you are part of more than one group, you only need to attend one session. Each session will last an hour and fifteen minutes. Sign up here.

Shepherds Needed for Families Affected by Flooding
WHPC is a member of the Austin Distaster Relief Network (ADRN). ADRN is responding to the recent flooding in several areas. Over 100 families have requested assistance from ADRN. You can assist these families by becoming a Disaster Relief Shepherd and walking with them through the journey of recovery. ADRN also has several other ways to help. Get details here or contact WHPC's disaster relief coordinator Becky Lanier.

Don't throw out that gently used backpack!

Our homeless brothers and sisters are always in need of backpacks. As you are wrapping up the school year, consider donating those gently used backpacks - or donate a new one - to Feed My People. WHPC Student Ministry will be collecting them in the youth room now until the end of June.
