Noonday Lenten Organ Series

Stephen Ministry Spring Speaker Series
Monday, March 7, 6:30-7:30 p.m. // Room 200 // Angela Bassett, licensed professional counselor and Eanes ISD school counselor, will bring her extensive experience working with children to a presentation on providing support for families who have concerns with children, focusing on children with substance abuse. Open to the community!

Annual Church Retreat

GriefShare
Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. // Room 202 // This national program is designed to assist people in walking the journey of grief with support along the way. 2016 Vacation Bible School

Christian Sports Camps
WHPC is hosting two Triumph Camps this summer for boys and girls ages 5-12. Sports Camp will be July 5-8, 8:30-11:30 a.m., and Dodgeball Camp will be August 1-4, 1-4 p.m. Cost is $75 before June 1 and $85 after June 1. // More info and registration here
InterFaith Hospitality Network
March 13-20 // WHPC will become a home for several families as part of IHN homeless ministry over Spring Break. Meals, evening hosts and overnight hosts are needed to help our guests feel as comfortable as possible during this difficult season of their lives. // More info and sign up here.

Austin Samaritans Mission Trip
April 16-23 // Join Austin Samaritans as we finish out a computer room, paint a mural and lead VBS at Christian schools in Managua, Nicaragua. Skills needed are enthusiasm and a love for serving others in the name of Jesus. // More info: Ki-Mi Fields

WHPC Nicaragua Family Mission Trip
June 2-11 // Sports camp, women's seminars, Vacation Bible School, micro-loan program and much more! No special talent is required, just a willingness to serve and share Christ's love. All ages are welcome! // Applications are due April 1. // More info: Nancy Pickett

2016 Africa Mission Trip
June 18-July 2 // This trip to Lusaka, Zambia, will include building our partnership with the Lusaka South Congregation through a shared construction project at Westlake Hills Prayer House. No experience needed, we will "work" as we are able. We will also meet with our sponsored seminary students, work with community schools, make home visits and debrief on a three-day safari. // More info here or contact Susan Bright.

Middle School Mission Trip
June 19-24 // Registration opens March 1 for the annual San Antonio Summer Trip with Blueprint Ministries. Cost is $475. // Contact: Cherryl Rainey 
IHN Toy Drive
Through March 13 // Toys are needed to entertain children who will be staying at WHPC as part of the InterFaith Hospitality Network homeless ministry. Requested items are: Legos, Duplo blocks, children's DVD's, building blocks, coloring books, washable crayons. Please drop toys off in Nancy Pickett's office.

Side by Side Kids
WHPC local mission partner Side by Side Kids is a Christian afterschool program in East Austin. They are in need of furniture and supplies: two twin beds or a bunkbed, black cardstock, chalk pastel sticks, newspapers, magazines and 10-12 gallons of sweet tea. // Contact Nancy Pickett to arrange drop-off/pick-up.

  • Acknowledged that Kris Brown, WHPC member and seminarian under care from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, was awarded the W.P. Newell Memorial Fellowship for post-graduate academic work
  • Remembered WHPC members Ann Laughlin and Louise Vine who died this month
