Last week, CommPRO.biz released six videos of the Gerald Sass Distinguished Service Award ceremony honoring Frank Ovaitt, president and CEO of IPR. At the event, five colleagues presented a look at the history and future of IPR as it promotes research that matters to the public relations practice.

The presenters included Ken Makovsky, co-chair of IPR and president of Makovsky, who highlighted IPR's role in advancing the public relations profession's use of research. Another presenter, Mike Fernandez, past IPR co-chair and corporate vice president at Cargill, spoke about how IPR just appointed its first Director of Research and will continue to invest in research.

Dr. Don Stacks, trustee and chair of the IPR Measurement Commission, received AEJMC's Dorothy Bowles Public Service Award. Both awards are based on connecting the work of academics and communications professionals and were presented at the 2014 AEJMC conference.

Video of all the speakers at the Gerald Sass Award Ceremony are also available on the IPR website, view here.

Measurement Week is a world-wide campaign highlighting how vital measurement is in the field of communications. Held from September 15-19, IPR will host daily posts by measurement experts on its blog, Research Conversations. A special measurement edition of the IPR Research Letter will also be released.

Measurement Week is spearheaded by AMEC's three International Chapters in North America, Asia Pacific and Europe, representing AMEC members in over 40 countries. Events next week include a Webinar series organized by Booz Allen Hamilton, a speaker series and workshops. To see what is happening in your area, visit AMEC's measurement calendar.
