Although many negative preexisting attitudes about the public relations-journalist relationship remain, advances in technology and the emergence of social media are changing the practices of modern media relations.  


A recent exploratory study sought to identify current trends in the PR-journalist relationship, compare the current relationship state with previous studies, and examine the effects of Twitter on media relations.
