The Rockwell Collins Recreation Center is expanding its hours. Starting January 2nd, 2013 the new hours will be:
Mon-Thur 5am - 10pm
Friday 5am - 9pm
Sat -Sun 7am - 7pm |

"Freebie Fridays"
Four Fridays have been set aside in 2013 as designated "Freebie Fridays." Bring your Rockwell Collins Rec Center eligible co-workers, family and friends for a "free" day pass to the Rockwell Collins Rec Center. Fun events, booths and offerings are planned. Dates for the four Freebie Fridays in 2013 are:

Rockwell Collins employees and family members are invited to try the Rec Center out for a day on Friday, January 11, 2013. Attendees can work out on equipment or participate in any of the group fitness classes offered throughout the day. Attendees can take a tour of the Rec Center and stop by our fitness booths. Classes offered include: Fitness Yoga, IronWorks, Zumba, Zumba Gold and Core.
Friday evening, come for the ZUMBA Marathon from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Join us as we kick off the new year with a major dance party. Invite your friends and help us FILL THE FLOOR! Anyone who qualifies for a Rockwell Collins Rec Center membership can join the party! (Current members who complete a referral card and bring a friend along will earn a special gift and all participants will go home with some bling!
Come ready to party yourself into shape with the Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning, dance fitness moves. Feel the Music and let loose on the first Freebie Friday of the New Year. |

New in 2013 - Rec Center Member Advisory Committee
Rec Center Member Advisory Committees are new for you in 2013. Give us your input, react to staff ideas and make suggestions on what you would like to see at the Rec Center. We will hold committee meetings at various hours, four times per year and welcome your ideas.
Brief informational meetings about joining the advisory committee will be held at the Rec Center on Thursday, January 17 at 6:00 pm, Friday, January 18 at 7:00 am, Friday, January 18 at 10:30 am. Attend one meeting to learn more about how you can become involved. Refreshments will be provided. Please register in advance by contacting the Rec Center at 295-2552. Move It & Lose It
Next Session Begins January 7
An eight-week exercise and weight management class that combines the expertise of Fitness Specialists or an experienced group fitness class instructor with that of a Registered Dietitian and gets real results for you!
Work out in a supportive, small group setting three times each week. The Fitness Specialist will challenge you to exciting new activities designed to increase your fitness level and assist you with weight loss. Each week your group will meet for 30-minutes with staff Dietitian, Sandy Holterhaus to learn sensible, long-term weight management strategies and discuss healthy eating topics.

Pilates
Group Intro to Pilates
Mon/Wed January 8, 10, 15, 17 from Noon to 1pm or 6:45-7:45pm. (Four one-hour sessions). Cost is $35 plus tax.
Private Intro/Refresher Sessions
May be scheduled at $35 per hour plus tax.

Hit it Hard and Go Home! Begins January 8.
TBC takes inspiration from multiple fitness modalities including military-inspired bootcamp, HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and Tabata, in order to create an intense full-body workout in only 30 minutes! This class will be dynamic and CHALLENGING! Participants should see noticeable cardiovascular and muscular endurance gains during the 8-week cycle. The class will focus on high intensity, body-weight movements with added work involving props such as resistance bands and kettlebells. This class is not designed for beginner exercisers. ZUMBA Gold Class Change Announcement
Beginning January 9th, 2013 the Tuesday 10:30am ZUMBA Gold Class will be moved to Wednesday from 9:05-9:50am due to member demand.

Dues IncreaseTakes Place in January
A membership dues increase of $2.00 per-person monthly takes effect on January 1, 2013. The last membership dues increase took place in October of 2008. The increase in membership dues will allow continued improvements to the facility, help cover the expansion of hours and increased operational costs. |
