Here is part of the email I received thanking Carlos for representing out laundry partnership with Mercy and North Decatur Presbyterian:

Carlos - a huge shout out to you for being present at Worship with us today. Oh that all of us would be so open and committed.... What a pleasure it was meeting you. We raised $270 which @ $35 per rotation should get us to JULY 12th. Avril, thank you for your service this week, for providing the laundry products and we welcome your son Adam if all homework is done and he can take the joviality.

Our God is a relational God - shared today by Charlie Cook a member at North Decatur Presbyterian Church.

"My Aunt, Aggie Ragsdale 08/18/1908 - 10/1/2001) lived near us in Athens, in a retiree complex with no washing machines in the apartments. She had to use a washer and drier in a laundry room down the hall. Consequently, she hoarded quarters to use in those machines. When Aggie died, we kept most of her things, (including a couple of envelopes with quarters which were destined to be eaten up by the washer & dryer). Recently I uncovered Aggie's laundry room quarters and I bring them to be used for washing clothes for the homeless - to arrive at their true destination and accomplish their ultimate purpose!

There is nothing I can add to this story, to God be the glory!

Maundy Thursday Worship Experience

Please invite your friends and neighbors to join us for Maundy Thursday Worship Experience.

At 6:30 pm, April 17, we will gather to share a meal and re-embody the Last Supper that Jesus shared with those whom he loved. Mediterranean Grill will cater the dinner with plenty of chicken, salad, rice, pita, dates and nuts for everyone to enjoy.

After the meal we will head into the sanctuary for scripture reading and a stripping of the sanctuary. It is a powerful service where the symbols of our faith are stripped from the sanctuary and the Passion of Christ is read from scripture.

Good Friday

April 18

Good Friday is a deeply spiritual and moving reflection on the events of Maundy Thursday as we await resurrection on Easter Sunday. We will be joining Mercy Church for Good Friday worship on the streets of Atlanta at 11 am - Freedom Park.
