PASTOR'S CORNER

Hound us, Lord, with affection and conviction until we renounce all lesser things to follow you. Help us see that in giving up the fool's gold of this world, we open ourselves to heavenly treasure that lasts forever.  Amen   - Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals

I just started this daily devotional as my Advent discipline and I thought that today's prayer was especially moving.  I think that following Jesus only seems radical when we are bound up in the worries of this world - today I feel especially free and so I don't feel all that radical.  My hope is that you will find your freedom in surrendering your cares and concerns to Jesus.

In Christ Always,

George

Each box costs $35.00.  Any amount that you donate is appreciated.  Checks can be made payable to MDPC and notated Holiday Boxes.

HOLIDAY TASTING

December 6, 2013

6:00PM to 7:30PM

Activities Building (GYM)

The MDPCCP Annual Holiday Tasting will take place on Friday, Dec. 6th. This event begins the holiday celebration here at school. It is an opportunity for us to fellowship with one another and to share holiday traditions and foods with our school family.

If you can contribute a holiday dish to share, please call the school office (404-296-1783).

As a special treat for the children we will have a winter concert by Shawn Brown, one of the prominent children's entertainers. His music CD's are well known by the children here at MDPCCP. He will teach us how we can get our children up and moving, providing exercise for them, even during the cold days of winter.

The event is free. There will be door prizes and a few tips on how to incorporate math into the holiday festivities.
