Hector and I were having lunch today and he was asking me about the Bible, "Should I get the King James Version?" "Which translation is the best?" When I got back to the office there was an email waiting for me from Eastminster Presbyterian. Michael Morgan, who has a collection of thousands of Bibles, is going to be sharing some of his collection. God works in mysterious ways!
Our sister church, Eastminster Presbyterian, will be hosting Michael Morgan - curator of one of the largest private collections of Bibles in the United States of America - on Thursday, May 16. He will be focusing on the unique and often amusing independent and private translations of the Bible between 1611 and the present day.
If you have not seen Michael's astounding collection of ancient and contemporary Bibles and heard his entertaining presentation, then you should plan to be here.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Bible and to share and grow our bonds with Eastminster. So bring your favorite brunch item to share and join us as Michael shares his collection or rare and limited edition Bibles throughout the ages.
