PASTOR'S  CORNER

I visited Mercy Church, at Druid Hills Presbyterian, and was deeply moved by their ministry with the homeless. They were hosting a youth group from Virginia and studied the 23rd Psalm with homeless men and women; listening to God's word in a very different context opens up new possibilities for understanding God's word for us beyond our daily grind. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to arrange a field trip to begin building the relationship between our churches.

They have some needs and I hope that your Spring cleaning will provide a way to meet some of them:

Bibles, Reading Glasses, Acoustic Guitar Strings, Art Supplies, Notebooks, Pens, Antihistamine, Antibacterial Ointment, Work Clothing, Prayer, and Volunteers.

Lynda Baker, who makes her home in the safety of a bus stop, shared her interpretation of the Lord's Prayer. Please make this your prayer for the week.

My Daddy, who lives in the righteous country, may your name be blessed and glorified forever. May your country come to earth, and may it be ruled just like you rule in heaven. Give your poor, homeless, and marginalized people exactly what they need today and forgive them their sins, especially the hatred they might feel towards those who they think put them where they are. Please lead us not into the temptation of finger-pointing, but teach us to love our enemies. For in you we have the power and the might to keep the revolution going as we praise, bless, and glorify your name. Amen.

Amen!

George
