PASTOR'S  CORNER

Gracious God, you are our way in the wilderness.

In our own times of testing be our spiritual nourishment,

protect us with your angels,

and show your authority in our lives,

so that we may hunger for righteousness

and live in peace and safety,

worshiping and serving you alone; through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Luke 4:1-13

 Habakkuk 2

A Vision for God's People - A Study For All Ages.

God answers the prophet Habakkuk with a powerful decree.  The suffering of the people and their longing for mercy, peace and justice, has not gone unnoticed.  God has a vision for the restoration of God's people.  God gives this vision to his faithful prophet Habakkuk to share so that all the people will know the vision.  Join us on Wednesday at 6:30 pm as we explore Habakkuk 2 and listen for God's word to Memorial Drive.

Wednesday, February 27, 6:30 pm Donnell Building - Adult Education Classroom.

We will share a light meal during the study.

Maundy Thursday Worship Experience

Please invite your friends and neighbors to join us for Maundy Thursday Worship Experience.

At 6:30pm, March 28, we will gather to share a meal and re-embody the Last Supper that Jesus shared with those whom he loved. Mediterranean Grill will cater the dinner with plenty of chicken, salad, rice, pita, dates, nuts, and gyro meat for everyone to enjoy.

After the meal we will head into the sanctuary for scripture reading and a stripping of the sanctuary. It is a powerful service where the symbols of our faith are stripped from the sanctuary and the Passion of Christ is read from scripture. It is a powerful worship experience!

Good Friday

Our pastoral interns - D'Jaris and Hackwin - will lead a service of reflection and prayer beginning at 6:30pm. The liminal space and time of Good Friday is a deeply spiritual and moving reflection on the events of Maundy Thursday as we await resurrection on Easter Sunday.

PRAYERS

To all of my friends:

Please pray for Dean, we almost lost him this morning, he stopped breathing when he was in the CCU emergency room at Grady. He is now stabilized and will be moved to the ICU unit.

Again, keep Dean, Bruce and I in your prayers.

Love,

D'Jaris
