PASTOR'S CORNER
Building a Culture of Radical Hospitality - with thanks to Robert Schnase
Jesus' invitation was simple, "Come and see" (John 1:39). "Come and see" was the invitation that his disciples shared when inviting others. You don't have to have all the answers to questions of faith and life to invite someone to church. The best starting place for inviting someone to join you in worship or service is why it means so much to you in your life.
"I" statements have the most impact! I love the vibrant music ministry. I love how our mission to Indian Creek is making the lives of refugee children better. I love the welcoming congregation and compelling sermons. "Come and see" how God is at work in our church. Do not exaggerate, pressure, or tell people what they should do. Instead talk about what MDPC means to you.
On Sunday we received a charge to share what is happening here at MDPC. We all have our calling cards with a place to write down our invitation. May God grant you the courage and wisdom to reach out to others and ask them to "come and see" for themselves what God is doing here.

Ash Wednesday Services
Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance and it marks the beginning of Lent. Ashes were used in ancient times, according to the Bible, to express mourning. Dusting oneself with ashes was the penitent's way of expressing sorrow for sins and faults.
There will be two Ash Wednesday services on February 13th. Please plan to attend either the noon or 6pm service.
Pancake Brunch and Fellowship
On Sunday, February 10th, immediately after worship, we will be gathering for a pancake brunch in the Jim Guess Activities Building. Please plan to join us for this wonderful fellowship meal.
Vision for the Church
On Saturday February 16th, from 9am-noon, in the MDPC Donnell Building, Rev. Joy Fisher - our Presbytery Congregational Consultant - would like to work with us on our vision and mission for the coming years. This meeting is open to the session, committee members, and other leaders within the congregation. Please let us know if you plan on attending by calling the office at 404.292.8212.
