Pets of the Homeless wishes to thank the many businesses nationally that hosted Pet Food Drives during the holidays.  Hundreds of pounds of pet food were collected and distributed to pets in need.

Please keep in mind that pet food is needed all year long.  Please help by donating pet food, blankets, collars, leashes, treats, toys, and beds to a Donation Site near you.  There are many unfortunate homeless with pets that need our help.

Surprise $5,000 Donation
Thank you to Pier Construction & Development

A surprise $5,000 donation goes a long way to help pets of the homeless! Pier Construction & Development of Henderson, NV donated $5,000 to Pets of the Homeless. The check was a welcome surprise to the national nonprofit. Founder, Genevieve Frederick said "Pier's donation will go to our emergency care program. This program is open to homeless across the country that do not have the resources to take their pet to a veterinary hospital when their pet is suffering from an illness or injury." Frederick went on to say, "Pier Construction has shown their compassion and generosity with this gift."

Your Donations at Work...
 Amber
In September, POTH received a call from a homeless woman who lives in her camper at a casino in WA.  Her pet, Amber, a 5 year old ferret had recently been diagnosed with insulinoma, tumors on her pancreas and bladder stones, and was urinating blood. Amber's owner  asked if Pets of the Homeless would possibly contribute towards the necessary surgery to remove the bladder stones.
POTH told her we could help with a portion of the quoted cystotomy costs.  She was able to obtain additional financial assistance from other organizations to go ahead with the surgery.  POTH contributed to have 15 bladder stones removed.
Amber's owner wrote us expressing her gratitude, "Thank you folks again for your help and all the kindness. You have been such a blessing to us! Amber is doing well in her recovery and I am so very relieved to have her still with me! She is loved so much and thank you for helping me take care of her in our times of hardship!"
