This Month POTH Helped with some Extreme Circumstances.....Artimisia

An advocate for a homeless woman called to ask if Pets of the Homeless would  help with a puppy that looked like it had a dislocated jaw. Pets of the Homeless assisted with an examination, x-rays, surgery and pain medications to mend what turned out to be a broken jaw.  POTH paid  the maximum assistance allowable. Artimisia had her sutures removed and is now wearing a muzzle for a month to straighten out her jaw.

 Baby Girl

Baby Girl was hit by a car and broke her hip beyond repair.  Unfortunately she had to have her leg amputated.  Baby Girl's owner lives in a basement with no running water.  Pets of the Homeless along with other organizations received a request to contribute towards her surgery.  Baby Girl was up and walking within hours of her amputation.  When her owner reunited with Baby Girl, he broke down in tears.  Baby Girl still needs to have another surgery to remove the  "ball and socket" portion of the femur.  Dogs bounce back unbelievably after amputations and live out the rest of their lives as if nothing happened.  We were happy to be able to contribute towards Baby Girl's survival.
