As the result of a group of ordinary people Baby, a sweet female pit bull mix, is headed to UC Davis to have surgery for a broken leg.    

An employee at a golf course in California contacted Pets of the Homeless to get help when she saw that Baby was not putting weight on her back leg. The homeless man lives on a creek that borders the golf course.  POTH helped set up an appointment at a local pet hospital. 

The woman and her husband provided transportation to and from the hospital for Baby and her owner.  The veterinarian had to use anesthesia to get three views of x-rays.  The hospital sent her home with pain medication.  Baby was in need of surgery and it was going to be over $1,500.  The woman did not give up hope, she contacted US Davis and they have agreed to have veterinary students perform the surgery at no cost next month.   

In the meantime, Baby and her owner are back at their camp.
