A Time for Celebration
February 15th, 2013
Greetings!

There is much to celebrate!

The Spotlight Awards, sponsored by the Music Center have released the semi-finalists for this year's Spotlight Awards. Again, LACHSA tops the list with more students recognized than any other high school. This is the largest arts competition of its kind in California and LACHSA's students shine.

This comes on the heels of LACHSA premier showing with the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts (NFAA) Young Arts awards. Young Arts is the premier arts scholarship competition and the only qualifier for the US Presidential Scholarship in the arts. Here too, LACHSA was second to none, with more students recognized than any other high school in the nation.

A record four LACHSA students have been nominated as US Presidential Scholars in the arts. Congratulations to Andrea Rodriguez, Jeremy Corren, Cameron Covell, and Analisa Gutierrez!

For our visual artists, no competition provides the range of national recognition as the Scholastic Arts Awards. LACHSA was garnered 70 awards!

This breaks our record held last year.

Please join me in celebrating our amazing students for these tremendous accomplishments and our amazing faculty and staff for their support, guidance, and love.

Stay tuned for the information on the move to our new home!

Sincerely,
