Connect Streets Project
The two planters have now been installed and we are talking with Cotswold Forge (who used to be situated on the Bath Road) about our ideas for the new boundary signs.Public Artwork We are now working with local printmaker Sue Brown to create a painted enamel panel that will celebrate the history of the Bath Road. This will be displayed on the long section of the garden wall at the Exmouth Arms. |

Cheltenham Connect 'Meet and Eat' Christmas Dinner Tuesday 4th December 7.30pm at the Beehive
We would like to invite all Cheltenham Connect members to join us for our "Meet and Eat" Christmas Dinner. It's a fun evening and a great opportunity to meet other members over good food and drink. This year we're having a three course dinner at the Beehive, Montpellier Villas, with live music from Louisa Gaylard.
Louisa is a young singer songwriter who has been writing, singing and playing music for about 7 years. Originally from Suffolk, Louisa moved to Guildford to study at the Academy of Contemporary Music and now lives in Cheltenham. She plays a range of folk/pop original songs and contemporary covers which are influenced by such artists as Frank Turner, Aretha Franklin and Ben Kweller. www.louisagaylard.co.uk
The event costs £24 including, dinner, music and tip. To book please go to the events section of www.cheltenhamconnect.co.uk or let belinda@cheltenhamconnect.co.uk know if you would like to come.
Christmas Craft Fair
December 8th - 9th, Bath Road Market
This year we're holding our Christmas Craft Fair at the Bath Road Market. There will be 30 craft stalls, a magical Santa's Grotto for the children, entertainment from local singers and musicians, mulled wine, mince pies, Punch and Judy and lots of Christmas cheer! Our aim is to promote local talent and encourage everyone to think and buy local for Christmas. Let's spend with local individuals instead of faceless multinationals.
We are still looking for volunteers to help on the day so if you fancy manning the raffle stall for an hour or dressing up as an elf please let us know! Email scarlett@cheltenhamconnect.co.uk
2012 Christmas Raffle
We will also be looking for locally made food items for the Cheltenham Connect Christmas Hamper. If you have been developing your bakery skills or have been using local produce to make jams or chutneys please drop the items in to Scarlett at ATC Floors and Doors in Tivoli. Remember to label everything so that the winner knows who you are!
Laptop Friday at Maison Chaplais, Tivoli
Every Friday between 9ish and 12ish we get together to work alongside each other, drink coffee, share ideas and chat. For those of us who work from home and spend a lot of time on our own it's an opportunity for networking and to meet other local people. There might be one other person or twelve folks - just turn up!

Local Clubs and Groups
Don't forget that you can see all the local clubs and groups via the
'Local Organisations link under the Local Links box (on the left-hand side of the website). For example we have just been told about the Cheltenham French Circle that meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month at 7.30pm in Church House, 60 Painswick Road, Cheltenham GL50 2ER (Talks are given in French on a variety of subjects. Further details online or from the secretary: tel. 01242 676143).
New Green Group co-ordinator
We are looking for someone (or two people) to take over co-ordination of the Green Group from Becky and Stuart. Please let us know if you are interested in taking on the role, which also means that you would become a member of our core team.
A few of us will be meeting to have a chat about lunches for older members of our community in the New Year. If anyone is interested in getting involved or knows someone who might like to attend, please contact vanessa@cheltenhamconnect.co.uk
Want to join/help our events team?
We're now starting to think about our activities for 2013. If you have any fun ideas of your own, or would like to join our events team, please email vanessa@cheltenhamconnect.co.uk
We urgently need a new storage place!! For the last year Cheltenham Commect member Jonathan Moffitt has kindly allowed us to use his garage space for all the things that we now own and need to store. Unfortunately the new parking restrictions mean that he now needs to use the garage and we urgently need to find a replacement. Please could you let wendy@cheltenhamconnect.co.uk know if you have a clean and dry room or garage area (of about 10' x 10') that we could use.
