1)  We raised funds for HEIFER FUND INTERNATIONAL
2)  We supported DYW (Distinguished Young Women) scholarship
program for area high school girls with a monetary donation.

State Police Barracks was located on the southern corner of the intersection of River Street and South Main Street.
A shopping center is in the location today.
 
In the 1930's, this was the Headquarters of Troop D of  the Massachusetts State Police.  It was then seventy years old and consisted of three hundred and twenty-five officers.

Maia Hay at West Bridgewater Library

On March 21st West Bridgewater senior student Maia Hay will be talking about her senior art project, "What does Art mean to you?"  It's a collection of art that the citizens
of West Bridgewater had created over the years. 
From ages 5 to 98 years old!  Maia has worked with the kids from the elementary schools and also the council of aging.  She'll be at the West Bridgewater Public Library at 2:30 pm to talk about all different types of art.  For more information, visit the West Bridgewater Public Library website.

Both services will include prayer, Scripture readings, and hymns.  All are welcome to attend.
The Last Supper ca. 1520 by Giampietrino  after Leonardo da Vinci, oil on canvas currently in the collection of The Royal Academy of Arts, London. An accurate full-scale copy.  It includes several lost details such as Christ's feet and the salt cellar spilled by Judas.  Giampietrino is thought to have worked closely with Leonardo when he was in Milan.

The West Bridgewater Lions Club bought cases of Girl Scout cookies from our local Daisy troop 69073.  The girls in the troop will all share the sales credit, helping them win prizes; the troop itself will benefit financially from the sale.  We are donating the cookies to the West Bridgewater food pantry and senior center, to give to people in our town facing hard times.  Thanks to the Lions Club for this great gift!

Greater Bridgewater Women of Today invite all children to their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, March 25th (Good Friday), from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM inside the Bridgewater Sports Complex (The Dome).

  Advanced registration is required due to limited space.  To register, please email GBWOT member, Danielle Bovill at daniellebovill@gmail.com  The cost is $5 per child with a max. of $10 per family, which includes:  the Egg Hunt and 4 game tickets. Doors will open at 11:00 AM for games, photos with the Easter Bunny ($1) and Face Painting ($1). The Egg hunt begins at noon. Please be sure to bring your own basket or bag.  There will be great raffles, including a ride to a Bridgewater school in a Police Car, tickets to a Maureen Hancock Show, and gift cards for Salon Fusion, Just Desserts and many more!

GBWOT is a volunteer organization that performs community service, raises funds to support local charities and community members, and foster friendships.  GBWOT has established a Family in Need Fund to assist local families experiencing hardships.  To date, GBWOT has helped more than 50 families in various ways, including supplying gift cards to families with an immediate family member in the hospital, providing photography services to families with a terminally ill parent, providing meals and Christmas gifts to families with a recently deceased parent, donating gift cards to family who lost their home in a fire, and much more.
GBWOT meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month.  For meeting location in Bridgewater or membership information, visit the group's Facebook page and send them a private Facebook message.

West Bridgewater Local Scholarship 
Application Information

Scholarship aid is provided chiefly through three Town / School organizations:  the Trustees for the Howard Funds, the WB Community Scholarship Foundation, Inc., and the Class of 2016 Scholarship Fund. Applicants for scholarship aid from the Howard Fund and CSF Fund must be West Bridgewater residents.  Applicants for the Class of 2016 Fund must attend WBHS.  Other scholarship sources, with their own criteria, may also use this application.

Deadline Noon on April 6, 2016.
CRITERIA:  The criteria for selecting recipients include a blend of academic achievement, financial need, extra-curricular activities and community involvement.  It is important for you to thoroughly and accurately complete this application to provide a complete picture of your achievements and financial need.

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be attending a post-secondary undergraduate school FULL-TIME in the fall of 2017.
All applicants must participate in a minimum of two hours of service.  All West Bridgewater residents MUST serve at least one of these hours at this year's Toll Booth, May 7th, 2016, if not otherwise fulfilled.
The documents required to be eligible for an award are listed below.
The deadlines listed below are firm.  Your application will be declared ineligible for consideration if the deadlines are not met.  Deadlines are noon on the day listed.  You are encouraged to pass in your documents well in advance of the deadlines so that you have time to fulfill any deficiencies before the deadline.
All applicants or a representative of the applicant must sign the application receipt and volunteer requirement acknowledgement/ assignment before the application will be considered to be officially delivered.
