Historical Tidbit :
Do you know your West Bridgewater Villages?

Village - noun - a settlement usually larger than a hamlet and smaller than a town; an incorporated minor municipality.

Our geography here couldn't support large-scale farming so villages had a more compact design than other colonies of early America.  The essence of each village was centered around the particular commercial / industrial goods it produced.  Homes were close together and each village had its common areas, such us a meeting house, woodlands and pasture land.  It's here we find, still to this day, our unique tight-knit community bond.

The term "village" is often interchanged with, "localities, districts, neighborhoods or sections."  West Bridgewater villages are:  Brooks Place, Cochesett, Elm Square, Manley's Corner, West Bridgewater, West Meadow, Westdale.

The West Bridgewater Lions Club bought cases of Girl Scout cookies from our local Daisy troop 69073.  The girls in the troop will all share the sales credit, helping them win prizes; the troop itself will benefit financially from the sale.  We are donating the cookies to the West Bridgewater food pantry and senior center, to give to people in our town facing hard times.  Thanks to the Lions Club for this great gift!

Adopt-A-Highway provides excellent marketing exposure, daily.  Signs reach consumers on-the-go and in the marketplace.  Here's why:
  • It is more affordable than traditional media, such as radio and newspaper.
  • Located on primary traffic arteries, signs are visible to drivers, commuters and long distance travelers.
  • Sponsorship marketing can bring your message to a local audience and impact your customers where they live, work and play.
  • Logo signage provides exposure where other formats of advertising cannot be found.
  • Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service of America, Inc.
