Historical Tidbit:  West Bridgewater Public Library

     The West Bridgewater Public Library is in the oldest section of the Bridgewaters in Massachusetts.  It is here that a lot of history began.
We have books of history and genealogy of the old families in this district that are of much interest to tourists who are looking up or tracing their family tree - The Howards, Ames, Willises and Edsons who came here in early 1600.
     The West Bridgewater Public Library was founded in 1879 by Mr. Francis E. Howard and other interested citizens and located in the old Post Office building with 736 volumes.
It was moved to the former Center Primary School building in October 1908.

     Former distinguished patrons and residents of our town were D.H. Montgomery, well-known historian and author of "Leading Facts of History" and Horace Mann Willard, a former principal of the "Howard School for Girls," formerly the Howard Seminary.  They were influential in the organization and selection of the original books for the library.

Adopt-A-Highway provides excellent marketing exposure, daily.  Signs reach consumers on-the-go and in the marketplace. Here's why:
  • It is more affordable than traditional media such as radio and newspaper.
  • Located on primary traffic arteries, signs are visible to drivers, commuters and long distance travelers.
  • Sponsorship marketing can bring your message to a local audience and impact your customers where they live, work and play.
  • Logo signage provides exposure where other formats of advertising cannot be found.

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king." ~ J.R.R. TolkienThe Fellowship of the Ring

**** UPDATE- TEXTING STING ****
Our WB Police Dept reports on their Facebook page from March 1, 2016:
"We conducted another texting sting yesterday afternoon.  We stopped an average of 27 vehicles per hour in a very small stretch of Route 106 during
2-5 PM heavy traffic time.  This is when school is getting out, children and teens are walking, more now especially with this mild weather. Please put the phones  down.  A text is not worth a life." Like us on Facebook

A huge thanks goes to our police for taking on this initiative and getting the message across in a real way.
