Historical Tidbit:

AR Parker's Restaurant & HP Hood & Sons

This was a favorite spot in the 50's for families to go to celebrate special occasions or every day.
Many EB townies remember the ice cream and greatest whipped cream cake around, especially fresh and delicious, since HP Hood & Sons had a dairy right across the street.

This spot on Rt 106 continues to hop.  It's now our YMCA.

Since Mollie's 10th birthday, when she asked her friends to make donations to Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, a nonprofit organization that provides bulletproof vests and other safety items to police departments for their four-legged officers, Mollie has dedicated her birthdays to taking care of our K-9 crime fighters.
Here are some highlights:
2012 ----> 10th bday - Mollie raised $500 to help provide an over-heat detector/alarm & remote door popper for a Wareham PD K9 cruiser.

2013 ----> 11th bday - Mollie raised over $1100 and provided a vest for K-9 Jari, partner to Trooper Pat Robinson of the MA State Police.

2014 ---->12th bday - Mollie was able to provide a SWAT vest for K-9 Caelen, a over-heat detector/alarm & remote door popper for Officer Jamie LeBretton, as well as K9 First Aid Kits for K-9 Caelen (partner of Ofc Jamie LeBretton), K-9 Cain (partner of Ofc. Marc Higgins), & K-9 Shirley (partner of Sgt. Glowka), all of Plymouth Police Department.  Follow these K9 teams at Plymouth Police Working Dog Foundation!

2015 ----> 13th bday - Mollie was able to provide Bridgewater Police Dept K9 Papi and Officer Steven Kingsley a Cruiser Kennel to insure safe and secure transport of K9, a Cruiser Vault, a locking drawer system, for secure and safe storage for police/k9 equipment, a SWAT vest that is is not only ballistic, but also blunt trauma protective - and it has built-in capabilities without needing additional equipment:  harness, hoist and can easily accommodate a K9 video camera or a overhead light, so air wing/helicopter support can track each K9 team deployed and a First Aid Kit.  This kit costs $200, contains 40 items (almost 400 pieces!), for a handler to help care for his K9 with minor injuries or to stabilize prior to transport in the event of a major injury.  The kits are assembled by MA Vest-a-Dog volunteers.

2016---> 14th bday - $10,000 for essential police K9 agility equipment for local K9s.

We are so proud of Mollie and all she has done!  Please help out her cause by attending her event and / or contributing.

Are you or a loved one struggling with a tragedy, serious illness or temporary crisis?  If so, the East Bridgewater Neighbor Brigade is there for you.  We are a nonprofit organization in town dedicated to helping our neighbors who are struggling with a temporary crisis and need help.  We provide home delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, house cleaning, and other errands.  These services are completely free of charge and available to any town resident in need.
If you or a loved one are in need, or are interesting in becoming a volunteer, please visit our website www.neighborbrigade.com.  You can also contact Susan Frazier or Tina Anthony at EastBridgewaterMA@neighborbrigade.com or call 508-690-6010.

Adopt-A-Highway provides excellent marketing exposure, daily.  Signs reach consumers on-the-go and in the marketplace.  Here's why:
  • It is more affordable than traditional media such as radio and newspaper.
  • Located on primary traffic arteries, signs are visible to drivers, commuters and long distance travelers.
  • Sponsorship marketing can bring your message to a local audience and impact your customers where they live, work and play.
  • Logo signage provides exposure where other formats of advertising can not be found.
  • Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service of America, Inc.

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."

Work Permits for Teens

WORK PERMITS are available in the main office at the Junior-Senior High School.  If your child is 14-15 years old, they will need additional paperwork filled out by their doctor before we can issue a permit.  We have that paperwork here, so it can be picked up anytime the office is open.  Students who are 16-17 years old just need to bring a copy of their birth certificate and we can type out the permit while they wait.  For both age groups, they will need to have the job or promise of employment before we can give them the permit.
