Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 7:00 PM
At St. Ann's Church, 660 North Main Street (Rt. 104) in Raynham
Hosted by the Stone Church and St. Ann's Church
An opportunity to give thanks as a community.
This is a non-denominational Christian Service.  All are welcome.
Giving Thanks...
From the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District

"The purpose of this post is to thank everyone within the communities of Bridgewater and Raynham, as well as the BRRSD for the incredible outpouring of support for the Raynham family who unfortunately experienced a house fire over the weekend.  The response has been absolutely overwhelming, which is not at all surprising.  That is what makes our communities and this District so special.  At this point, the family is very well situated with clothing and shoe/sneaker donations.  People who are still interested in making a monetary or gift card contributions, however, can still do so by dropping off the donations at the Merrill Elementary School in Raynham.
A special "thank you" goes out to Mrs. Deb Westell, Mrs. Kelly Blake, Mrs. Charlene Charette, Mrs. Colette Bythrow, and all the volunteers who organized the donation collection at the Merrill Elementary School on Sunday.  Please know that your efforts are greatly appreciated.  We thank everyone once again for supporting this family during their time of need."

Historical Tidbit:  Coming to New England

When we survey the landscape of our local communities, we begin to see what brought our early ancestors here.  Throughout this nation's history, the most cited reason for coming to America was freedom.  Freedom from persecution from religious and/or political beliefs.

Many came for opportunity, income, to own land or simply to feed themselves and their families.  Why New England?   The extensive network of water-ways provided transportation, trade, fishing and the operation of mills.   Woodlands supplied timber; low hills and fields shared land for grazing and crops.

The early settlers were able to apply their skills and artistic abilities, brought from their homeland and used in more ways than they could have dreamed.   Through hard work, perseverance and hope, they carved out a life within the wilds of New England.

We New Englanders may take for granted this abundance of natural resources.  If you need to be reminded of the bounty that surrounds us, step out and visit our local communities.  Cruise our main streets and back roads, paddle our streams and lakes, stroll our woods and fields, gaze upon our hills and valleys of our home....our New England Home.

Respectfully submitted, Rob Lundquist

GATRA Services for Raynham

GATRA transportation services make everyday life a little easier, especially for seniors who are transitioning from driving.  In addition to fixed-route bus service in the Taunton/Raynham area,
GATRA provides safe and accessible Dial-A-Ride service for seniors over 60 years and for people with disabilities of any age.  Dial-A-Ride is $1.25 (one way) for trips between Raynham and Taunton or $10.00 for a 10-ride pass. GATRA, with the help of a grant from the United Way, also offers a long-distance medical transportation service called MedWheels for seniors and persons with disabilities that will travel to Boston hospitals or other medical facilities beyond Taunton. MedWheel trips are limited to 2 times per/month and there is a requested donation of $10.00 per/ride.  For additional information, call 508-823-8828 or visit the GATRA website at: www.gatra.orq.
