Historical Tidbit:

The Town of East Bridgewater was an early industrial inland town located on the northern portion of the Taunton River system in Plymouth County.   The town's European community had been heavily damaged in King Philip's war.  Nine of the ten homes in the area were destroyed during the fighting.  Its early economy was based on agriculture, and the early  community had grist and saw mills, iron forges and tanneries.

Garnet Rogers
Sunday - September 13th 2:00pm
(doors open @ 1:30pm)

Benefit Concert for The Wounded Warrior Project

Garnet Rogers: Summer's End
Garnet Rogers: Summer's End
Admission: $20.00

Born in HamiltonOntario, to parents of Nova Scotian descent, Garnet Rogers spent many hours in front of the old floor model radio listening to Grand Ol' Opry broadcasts and harmonizing with his brother, the late folk legend Stan Rogers. Since then, Garnet has established himself as a formidable solo artist. His music, like the man himself, is literate, passionate, highly sensitive,
and deeply purposeful.

Speaking of Purpose, proceeds from this event will be donated to benefit
The Wounded Warrior Project:
  • To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members.
  • To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
  • To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

A Generous Donation

Photo courtesy of the East Bridgewater H.O.P.E. Facebook site.

This summer the Bridgewater Savings Bank graciously donated one thousand dollars to East Bridgewater H.O.P.E., and their support has been consistent over the years.

H.O.P.E., founded in November of 2011, works with the local community in the education and prevention of the drug epidemic that is plaguing our society. Pictured above are (l-r) Suzanne Catraio, Chief John Cowan, Susan Willis Silva, Shawn Salisbury and Russ Dupuis, Jr.  Our warmest appreciation for the generosity and the work done. Further information on East Bridgewater H.O.P.E. can be found on ebhope.weebly.com

Funds Donated to American Society for
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)

Community Covenant Church recently donated $374.61 to the ASPCA after the church's annual Vacation Bible School.

During August, children who attended Vacation Bible School donated money to support the local ASPCA shelter in Brockton.
Shown in the photograph are several children and volunteers of Community Covenant's program, along with Pastor Donald Olson and ASPCA staff member Joyce, who accepted the funds on behalf of the Animal Protection Center.

Great job, Kids!  Way to go, taking care to help all of God's creations!

Respectfully submitted, Gabrielle Olson
