Buzz Around West Bridgewater
Massachusetts Walking Tour Comes to Town

Yes, they walked from concert to concert, usually eight to thirteen miles!
These modern-day bards, who combine artistry, music and culture promote artistic diversity and positive uses for recreational land use, graced WB with  a performance on June 26 at the West Bridgewater Public Library.
This free show involved local musicians and artists, making it an eclectic combination of talent; with groups such as Andy & Judy, The Male Bonding Band, Capriol Consort; poets Faye George and Winston F Bolton; and Jim Weidenfeller's Photography.
The Massachusetts Walking Tour completed the evening with a beautiful combination of folk harmonies.
A big thank you to The Friends of the Library and The West Bridgewater Cultural Council for sponsoring this wonderful event

Male Bonding Band - WB library
The Male Bonding Band got together as members of the Bridgewater State University Alumnae Choir, and now they play around at parties.

The Massachusetts Walking Tour finished up their travels in Kingston last week, saying: "Thank you to our friends and family, to all the local artists and promoters, and to all our sponsors who helped make the 2015 Massachusetts Walking Tour the best year yet.
The Bay Circuit Trail has been "crushed," and 13 community concerts given along the way. It couldn't have been possible without help from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, New England Mountain Outfitters (NEMO), the Bay Circuit Alliance, and Mr. Bill Condry.
Much love, Mandy, Mama Duck, Crusher, Spanky and Bubbles"

Independence Day
 John Adams Photo via Wikipedia

The Declaration of Independence has five parts. They are: the Preamble, the Statement of Human Rights, Charges Against Human Rights, Charges Against the King and Parliament, and the Statement of Separation and Signatures.

56 people signed the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson wrote the majority of it. The writing committee was: Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston and Thomas Jefferson.  Both Thomas Jefferson  and John Adams (pictured) died on July 4, 1826.

July Fourth is the "biggest hot dog holiday of the year," according to TIME magazine, with Americans reportedly consuming about 155 million of them on Independence Day alone.

"According to legend, on July 4, 1776, John Adams...and his wife, Abigail, sat down for a celebratory meal of turtle soup, New England poached salmon with egg sauce, green peas and boiled new potatoes in jackets. They followed the meal with Indian pudding or Apple Pandowdy," wrote Justine Sterling for Delish.com in 2011.

Our Booster Club Seeks New Membership

For over 50 years, the West Bridgewater Boosters Club has supported the athletic programs at West Bridgewater Middle Senior High School.
They hold various fundraisers during the year, including The Duck Race at Park Day, a Golf Tournament, and provide volunteers to run Bingo at St. Ann's every Thursday.
Their largest funding project is the Annual Athletic Awards night, where varsity athletics are honored with earned letterman jackets, team championship plaques, photos and banners.
They are also called upon to offer additional support when financial resources are limited. In the past, they have purchased treadmills, basketball backboards, scoreboards for various sports, and just recently made a large donation to the Fitness Room to be opened in the new high school.
Park Day Duck Race

The Boosters are currently recruiting new members and officers. Many of the current members, including the president, vice president and treasurer, no longer have students at the school. Energetic, enthusiastic new members are highly valued and sought out.
