Spotlight on White

Moattar White Rug Samples The March-April issue of Veranda provides a brief history lesson on the use of white rugs. "There's seemingly nothing it can't do," says Mario Lopez-Cordero. All of us at Moattar, Ltd. definitely agree. So if you are on the hunt for a spectacular white rug, make sure to stop in the showroom to view our collection. And in the meantime, have a look at a few images on our Facebook page. Make sure to pick up the current issue of Veranda to read the full article and see a beautiful series of interior images.

Did you know...

Many contemporary geometric rug patterns, like the ones in our new metallic collection below, have been derived from ornamental borders found in antique Chinese rugs. Common to Chinese tastes were elaborate frets or T designs similar to the pattern in the contemporary rug shown lower left. Turkish Khotan patterns were also influenced by these designs brought via the Silk Road travelers. View some of the reproduction Khotans on our website and you will notice the use of curvilinear and fretwork grid decoration, especially in the borders.
