A Note From Mrs. Brown
Tuesday, October 16, 2012
Dear ECC Families,
When you read this, we will be just one day away from Fall Break. It is a milestone as it signals the end of the first nine weeks in a thirty-seven week school year, almost a trimester in already! Yikes! For planning purposes, we return to school on Monday, November 5th and report cards will come home on December 14th.
Thank you to Girl Scout Troop 1343, and their leader, Mrs. Regnery. They created and carried out a fun-filled Red Ribbon Week and we had fun along the way. Another ECC event that needs to be on your calendars is the ECC Annual Holiday Toy Drive to benefit the children staying at Ronald McDonald House in San Diego. These children and their families, who are treated at Rady Children's Hospital, will benefit from our drive. There will be a toy collection box in each classroom starting on November 26th. Families can donate any new unwrapped toy or gift item for babies through teens. A truck will be on campus on December 10th to pick up all of the toys. A heartfelt thanks goes to Laura Goodstein for organizing this event.
Have a wonderful Fall Break!
Carrie Brown

ECC FUND
GHOULISH Fun for ECC Parents!
The La Costa Valley Club invites all ECC Parents to its Annual Halloween Party at the Valley Club on Saturday, October 27 beginning at 6:00 p.m. This year's event will include all of the customary great food, music, dancing and famous costume contest, and it will also be a fundraiser for the ECC Fund with a fantastic raffle. EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT EXTENDED THROUGH 10/24! Go to www.lacostavalleyhoa.com to learn more about the event and purchase tickets online.
It's not too late to DONATE to The ECC Fund! We are still far short of our annual goal of raising $100,000 for ECC's Music, Science and Technology Programs. The plain & simple truth is that our school CANNOT continue to fund our Consultants without your financial support. We need the support of every single family at ECC to make a difference. No donation is too small, every dollar counts! You can increase the impact of your contribution by making an automatic, recurring donation in any denomination. For just $20 a month over the course of the school year you can make a huge impact on our children's education.
Donation forms are available HERE and in the school office. You can also donate online through our school website at www.eusd.net by clicking on the "ECC Fund Donations" link or go directly to our online donation page at https://ecces.ejoinme.org/2012FallPledgeDrive.
SHOW YOUR ECC PRIDE ON YOUR CAR: Every ECC Family who donates $50 or more to The ECC Fund will receive an awesome El Camino Creek license plate frame. We expect to receive the frames in early October and will distribute them to each qualifying family ASAP.
If you would like to find out more about the ECC Fund or have questions or comments, please contact ECC Fund Co-Chair Lynda Wennerstrom at ldwenn2000@yahoo.com.
