A Note From Mrs. Brown
October 1, 2012
Dear ECC Families,
It is quiet around here without our 6th graders. They arrived safely at camp and besides the heat, things are running smoothly and the fun has begun! If you are picking up a camper on Friday, please plan on arriving here at about noon. The busses usually leave camp at 10:00 and it takes about two hours. We will post a sign on the office door noting their expected arrival time if it will be any later or earlier. Please refrain from calling the office, imagine if all one hundred and fifty parents tried to call to get an exact time!
Thank you to Mrs. Erika Brucia for implementing our lunchtime "Quiet Room." Room 103 is now filled with serenity on Fridays as children choose to read, color or just rest. Due to the overwhelming popularity of this concept, we will now have the room open on Tuesdays at lunch as well.
Our Yoga Program will now be a PE Program until January 2013 when Yoga officially begins. Miss Christina will be preparing lessons for games to be played both in and outdoors for all students. She will be using our SPARK PE Curriculum and the accompanying materials and supplies to assist her.
Happy fall,
Carrie Brown

ECC FUND
The ECC Fund Fall Pledge Drive Raises over $51,000 for ECC!
CONGRATULATIONS TO SIEU & DAVID CHENG & FAMILY for winning our Fall Pledge Drive $500 Visa Gift Card Drawing! MANY THANKS to the 212 ECC Families who donated over $51,000 to The ECC Fund! And a special thanks to the ECC PTA who made extraordinary efforts to support our Fall Fund Drive by helping us spread the word to our school community. It's not too late to DONATE to The ECC Fund! We are still far short of our annual goal of raising $100,000 for ECC's Music, Science and Technology Programs. The plain & simple truth is that our school CANNOT continue to fund our Consultants without your financial support. And without your donations, our school cannot fund thousands of dollars in valuable teacher & classroom grants, educational tools and resources which are only made possible with ECC Fund monies. We need the support of every single family at ECC to make a difference. No donation is too small, every dollar counts! You can increase the impact of your contribution by making an automatic, recurring donation in any denomination. For just $20 a month over the course of the school year you can make a huge impact on our children's education. Donation forms are available HERE and in the school office. You can also donate online through our school website at www.eusd.net by clicking on the "ECC Fund Donations" link or go directly to our online donation page at https://ecces.ejoinme.org/2012FallPledgeDrive. SHOW YOUR ECC PRIDE ON YOUR CAR: Every ECC Family who donates $50 or more will receive an awesome El Camino Creek License plate frame. We expect to receive the frames in early October and will distribute them to each qualifying family ASAP.

And of course all of you wonderful women made this an unforgettable event. GHOULISH Fun for ECC Parents!
The La Costa Valley Club invites all ECC Parents to its Annual Halloween Party at the Valley Club on Saturday, October 27 beginning at 6:00 p.m. This year's event will include all of the customary great food, music, dancing and famous costume contest, and it will also be a fundraiser for the ECC Fund with a fantastic raffle. Cost is $25 per person through 10/14, price increases to $30 per person on 10/15. Go to www.lacostavalleyhoa.com to learn more about the event and purchase tickets online or click here to view the flyer.
