The 2013 Legislative Session is now underway.

A NH House Committee met on Wednesday to consider a 'technical fix' for an issue in the Newfound Regional School District. The Committee's unanimous approval will be considered when the House meets on January 2nd. The Fiscal Committee also met to organize this week.

House Speaker Norelli named committee chairs and membership. Representative Mary Gile (Concord) is the new Chair of the House Education Committee. Rep. Ann Grassie (Rochester) is the Vice Chair. Mary Jane Wallner (Concord) is Chair of the House Finance Committee, with Rep. Cindy Rosenwald (Nashua) as Vice Chair. The Municipal and County Government Committee will be chaired by Representative Marjorie Porter (Hillsboro), with Bruce Tatro (Swanzy) serving as Vice Chair.

In the Senate, Senator Nancy Stiles (Hampton) will continue to Chair the Senate Education Committee, with Senator John Reagan (Deerfield) as Vice Chair. Senator Chuck Morse (Salem) will continue to chair the Senate Finance Committee, and Senator Jeanie Forrester is Vice Chair.

While still too early to see the language of actual bills being drafted for the upcoming session, indications of topics to be considered can be determined by reading the titles of potential bills, called LSRs (Legislative Service Request). These bill titles are available on-line here.
