Hey guys!

Fertilizer and Pre-Emerge.  Those two items are the hot items right now.  For those of you wondering, yes it is time to put down a pre-emerge!  For those of you wondering what I am talking about.... Pre-Emerge is used to PREVENT seed from germinating.  In other words, it is a great way to stop the weeds before they come up!  Here is a great article on the different pre-emerge products we carry.

It is also time to start thinking about fertilizer.  If you don't want to put down a pre-emerge, but you do want to fertilize, I would recommend the PG 16-4-8.  It is a very strong fertilizer made to "pop" the yard.

You guys can also think about our fertilizer programs!  Check out the info below on those!

See y'all soon!

Perennial of the Week
by Rhonda Cathey

Butterfly Weed

Common Name: Butterfly Weed or Butterfly Flower

Botanical: Asclepias tuberosa

Sun Exposure: Full Sun

Cold Hardiness: Zone 3 or -40 degrees

Asclepias or Butterfly Weed is the plant monarch butterfly lays eggs on!  Flowers are long lasting and bloom early to mid-summer.  Try to give it well drained soil by adding Cotton Burr Compost to your bed. With each year it gets better!
