Winter Pruning

It's that time of year again to get out on any warm days and do some pruning.  I know the weather has been slightly spastic... but this is Amarillo, Texas!  Anyway, major pruning needs to be done while the trees and shrubs are still dormant.  General rule is cut back no more than a third of your shrubs and plants unless your trimming perennials.  Anything that dies to the ground can be cut to the ground or to the new growth around February or March.  Always cut out or off anything that is dead.  If you need help deciding what to do on a specific plant please let us know and we will be glad to help!
