Getting Ready for Winter 

 

Hey Guys!

I always have customers asking me what I do to get my yard ready for the winter time. Normally I'm procratinating just like everyone else because I have other priorities.  This year my priority has been getting my house ready to go on the market. It went on the market on Monday, so last week I was hurriedly doing all of my winter yard work since we had that freeze a couple of weeks ago.

I went through and cut back all of my perennials that froze back to the ground since they were just dead sticks.  (If it didn't freeze back, I left it.)  I planted pansies and also re-mulched all of the flower beds to insulate the roots on everything that might be vulnerable.  (Plus mulch just makes the flowerbed look that much better!) Finally, I grabbed a back of Yum Yum Mix Winterizer and put it around all of my plants and shrubs and watered them in.

In the yard, Chase mowed like normal (hopefully for one of the last times!) and he put Winterizer and Activate on the yard. We are still watering the yard and flowerbeds and won't stop even in the winter time.  We just cut it back quite a bit since things aren't growing.

That's the low down for winter prep and anyone in the market for a house should let me know!  3603 Portland Ave over in Cityview.  It's 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with an awesome pergola in the backyard!
