Busy Weekend Ahead!!!!!

Hey Guys!!!

This weekend it is officially Spring!  Now, I know the weather doesn't sound very spring-ish but you can still come out and get in the warm greenhouses if you have spring fever!

Saturday is an awesome seminar on organic and indoor gardening from our sales reps at Hydrofarm and Foxfarm.  I sent out an e-mail threatening to cancel this seminar yesterday, but we got another 15 people to register so it will still happen!  The seminar will start at 10 am and go until about noon. So hurry and RSVP!!!

Sunday is even more awesome!  We are having our 2nd annual Spring Fling Garden Show & Open House from 1-5.  Come check out awesome specials, talk to our vendors, and learn about the great garden clubs around town!  Also, Larry Bedwell is going to have baked goods and hot dogs for sale to raise money for Relay for Life.  Come out and help us start off the Spring with a bang!

If you have any questions just give me a shout!

See y'all this weekend!

Botanical Interests
Flower Seed of the Week

By Judy Jones

Coreopsis
Coreopsis lanceolata

Two species of Coreopsis are native to the Texas Panhandle, while the species lanceolata is not one of these it should perform well in your flower garden. 'Double Sunburst' is a long lived plant and is considered a hardy (zones 4 -9 ) perennial. With a height of 36 inches it will do well in the middle or back of your flower bed. It does not require a lot of water and is very drought tolerant. Coreopsis seed needs light to germinate. Plant about two weeks before the last frost remember to moisten soil and then scatter seeds taking care not to cover the seeds. Keep soil moist with soft misting and the seeds can be covered with clear plastic until they sprout usually in about 10 days.
If you purchase Botanical Interest seeds here at PGH be sure and read the additional information inside the seed packets.
