Las Vegas Kicks off Nevada Court of Appeals Campaign


The Las Vegas 2014 campaign seeking voter approval for a much-needed Court of Appeals in Nevada is hosting a kickoff event on Tuesday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sahara West Library board room (second floor, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.)   


This event is free and open to the public. The State Bar of Nevada and its Board of Governors has long-supported a Court of Appeals for Nevada, so stop by and help jump-start this important campaign!

Free CLE: Consumer Law Basics


Nevada Legal Services is pleased to present Protecting Consumers: Consumer Law Basics. The seminar will take place in Las Vegas on Wednesday, September 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Sahara West Library Board Room (9600 West Sahara Ave.) and in Reno on Thursday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northern Nevada Bar Center (9456 Double R Blvd. Ste. B, Reno).


This seminar is intended for individuals interested in learning the fundamentals of consumer law. Attendance is free for attorneys willing to take on one pro bono case or provide several hours of counseling. For those who would like to attend but are unable to volunteer, admission is $100. Attendees will receive five general CLE credits.

Save the Date: Latino Bar Association Panel Discussion


The Latino Bar Association is hosting a luncheon and panel discussion on the divisive situation surrounding unaccompanied minors currently seeking access to the United States. The event will take place at Duffer's Bar and Grill on Thursday, August 21. More details to follow. Confirmed panelists include Arlene Rivera and Rex Velasquez. Jocelyn Cortez will serve as moderator.
