Video to Aid Pro Per Litigants in Family Court Now Available in Spanish

A Spanish-language version of the video created to assist those self-representing in Family Court is now available online.

The "Putting Your Best Foot Forward" video, written and produced by Judge Gayle Nathan, contains useful and easy-to-understand information that will assist pro per litigants, or those who represent themselves, in court. Currently, more than half of those appearing in Family Court are pro per litigants. The video, broken into clips, includes presentations by a variety of experienced judges and attorneys, and covers a range of relevant topics. The table of contents and links to the clips are available on the Eighth Judicial District Court website.

Family Court Tips

District Court continually works to develop innovative ideas, improve efficiency, address issues and improve access to justice. For more information about the Clark County courts, please visit the court website.

Video CLE: The Ethics of Medical Marijuana

In June, Bar Counsel David Clark and Alan Freer, a member of the Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, conducted a one-hour CLE on the legal implications of Nevada's adoption of medical marijuana laws. During the seminar, they also explained how attorneys can ethically represent medical marijuana businesses and their owners.

For those who missed the live seminar, it's not too late to take advantage of this timely educational opportunity. The digital video program, worth 1 Ethics CLE credit, is now available for purchase on the state bar's website.

For more information and to order the program, visit the state bar's website.
