New Cover Sheets to be Used When Filing in District Court

In accordance with NRS 3.275, Court Administrator Robin Sweet approved the use of new district court cover sheets. The cover sheets for civil, family/juvenile and business court were modified based on feedback from the district courts. It is hoped that they will also assist in the gathering of statistical information from the courts.

The new district court civil and family/juvenile cover sheet and business court cover sheet (for Washoe and Clark Counties only) are available on the Supreme Court's website. Going forward, these new cover sheets should be used for filing matters in the district courts.

Questions may be directed to the Administrative Office of the Courts at statistics@nvcourts.nv.gov.

Family Court Truancy Diversion Program Volunteers Honored

The Clark County Family Court honored volunteer lawyers who oversee truancy sessions in more than 40 schools across the district at an event on June 16. The event marks the achievements of the Truancy Diversion Program (TDP) and the volunteer judges and attorneys who visit the schools and motivate the students to attend school and excel in their education.

Participating judges and attorneys volunteer three hours each week to visit schools and meet individually with students. They review the students' progress with attendance, school work and other matters, and ensure that they have the resources that they need to be successful. This program is always looking for volunteers. Those interested in participating may contact Deborah Rose at (702) 455-1755 or RoseD@clarkcountycourts.us.

The TDP, which is funded by the Clark County Family court, was established by Judge Gerald Hardcastle in 2002. The program is currently overseen by Judge Jennifer Elliott in collaboration with the Clark County School District.
