Practical Tips for Courtroom Professionalism, Decorum and Procedures

Find out from the judges themselves how a young lawyer can build a reputation for professionalism and civility while dealing with counsel, clients, judges and opposing parties during this lunchtime seminar presented by the State Bar of Nevada's Young Lawyers Section.

The program will take place on Friday, June 13 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at the Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas. Lunch will be provided. Discussion topics will include courtroom procedure, issues that arise in different types of courts, what judges expect of the attorneys appearing in their courtrooms, and how to balance a lawyer's zealous representation of a client's interest with a duty to act professionally.

For more information or to register, visit the state bar's website.

Request for Proposal: Nevada Civil Practice Manual Editors

The State Bar of Nevada is seeking Nevada member attorneys to serve on a team of lead editors for the Nevada Civil Practice Manual reference publication. The Nevada Civil Practice Manual is a book produced and licensed by the State Bar of Nevada for publication by LexisNexis.

Each year, editors will evaluate and process minor updates proposed to the Nevada Civil Practice Manual's current edition (presently the fifth), and will assist in the planning, implementation and execution of revisions to the manual in order to create a sixth edition.

For a complete description of the project and instructions on submitting proposals, please download the Request for Proposal. Direct any questions to Publications Manager Jennifer Smith at [email protected].
