Join the Young Lawyers Section

The time for paying 2014 license fees has arrived. Attorneys who have been admitted to practice in Nevada for fewer than five years or who are 36 years old or younger should consider checking the box for the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) when paying those fees.

The YLS offers a host of membership benefits, including reduced CLE registration fees, networking and social opportunities, and access to the section list-serv. Members also receive a bi-monthly publication from the YLS. Members gain all of this for just $25 a year.

For more information regarding section membership, please contact Scott Lachman at or Jeff Conner at

Support Pro Bono Efforts in Nevada

State Bar of Nevada members still have time to fulfill the aspirational goals of Nevada Rule of Professional Conduct 6.1 in 2013. They can support pro bono efforts in our state by taking a case or donating money.

For more information on doing pro bono work, contact a pro bono provider like Volunteer Attorneys For Rural Nevadans, Washoe Legal Services, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Southern Nevada Senior Law Program or Nevada Legal Services; or reach out to the bar's Access to Justice Director Angela Washington at
