    Civility Roundtable Luncheon: Tues. Nov. 26  


    The State Bar of Nevada's Board of Governors and Civility Task Force are conducting a Civility Roundtable Luncheon on Tuesday, November 26 at noon. It will be hosted by Adam Laxalt at Lewis Roca Rothgerber, LLP, located at 3993 Howard Hughes Pkwy., Suite 600, in Las Vegas. The purpose of the luncheon is to invite discussion on civility and solicit information from the legal community about issues to explore.


    If you are interested in participating, please RSVP by e-mailing no later than Friday, Nov. 22.  

    The mission of the Civility Task Force is to:

    • Create consensus on the concept of civility in Nevada;
    • Propose appropriate rules, laws and/or standards regarding civility; and
    • Promote standards of civility in Nevada through CLE seminars and other forms of outreach.

    A Civility Roundtable Luncheon will be scheduled in the Reno area for a future date.

    13th Annual Pro Bono Awards Luncheon 

    Please join the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada for its 13th Annual Pro Bono Awards Luncheon. One of the legal community's most anticipated events, the luncheon honors the extraordinary efforts of southern Nevada's pro bono attorneys. It is thanks to their generous donations of time and expertise that the Legal Aid Center is able to protect thousands of southern Nevada's most vulnerable residents.

    The luncheon will take place on Friday, December 6, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Pavillions Ballroom of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Check in begins at 11:15 a.m.

    Attendees may register online or by mail-in registration form. The deadline to purchase tickets and tables is Friday, November 29. Sponsorship is also available.

    Las Vegas Latino Bar Association Mixer and Election

    The end of the year is nearly here, and so is the end of the Las Vegas Latino Bar Association board's tenure for 2013. The LBA invites members to participate in electing the 2014 board by attending its November mixer and casting a vote.   


    The mixer will take place on Thursday, November 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mingo Kitchen & Lounge, 1017 First Street, 180, Las Vegas. No RSVP is necessary and there is no admission fee.


    Only active members may vote and run for office, and they must be present in order to vote. Non-members are welcome to attend and mingle.

    The Nevada Board of Continuing Legal Education Welcomes Applicants


    The state bar Board of Governors will make appointments to the Nevada Board of Continuing Legal Education (NBCLE). The NBCLE is a working board. Applicants must be willing to attend quarterly meetings and standing committee meetings. The applicants must also be willing to chair a standing committee.


    Applicants should submit letters of interest and resumes to the Nevada Board of Continuing Legal Education at 457 Court St., 2nd Fl., Reno, NV 89501.
