Appointment of Permanent and Alternate Member on the Commission on Judicial Discipline

The Commission on Judicial Discipline has an opening for a permanent member and an alternate member in northern Nevada, beginning immediately. The appointment term expires
December 31, 2016. The Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada shall appoint the attorney member to fill the vacancy.

The commission was created by a Nevada Constitutional amendment to investigate allegations of judicial misconduct in office, violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct or disability of judges. The commission meets approximately six times per year, in regularly scheduled meetings, and as necessary by telephone conference meetings. The commission also conducts formal hearings as a Court of Judicial Discipline. The commission's main office is located in Carson City. Some travel is required.

Interested applicants must be available to participate in upcoming commission hearings on December 2-6, 2013 and December 16-18, 2013. Interested applicants should complete an online application

form. All applications must be received before noon on
    November 19, 2013.

    November Issue of Nevada Lawyer

The November issue of Nevada Lawyer is now online and coming to a mailbox near you.

This month Nevada Lawyer brings you articles from members of the bar who have practiced abroad with a focus on international law and practice. These articles provide insight into the unique considerations that can arise when practicing law in a foreign country or when representing foreign clients. Also in the November issue, in recognition of Veteran's Day, we thank those Nevada attorneys who have served and who continue to serve our country through military service.

If you've missed an issue, catch up by browsing through our extensive collection of back issues in the Nevada Lawyer archive, including several articles for CLE credit.
