The State Bar of Nevada is a proud sponsor of Bank of Nevada's "Ethics of Trial and Appellate Practice" seminar, to take place in Las Vegas on Tuesday, February 26, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Presenters Justice Michael Douglas, Justice James Hardesty and Judge Rob Bare will discuss effective opening and closing arguments, use of expert witnesses (including treating physicians) and other topics including appellate and writ practice. Relevant Nevada Supreme Court cases and statutes will be provided for each topic and the presentation will be augmented with the use of relevant clips from well-known films and television spots. Following the seminar, attendees are invited to a networking event at the Cabaret Jazz Room in the Smith Center for Performing Arts.

Mock Trial Competition Season Underway
Hard working high school students from across the state will be putting their courtroom skills to the test in the coming weeks and months.
Mock Trial participants have spent the school year preparing to stand as both defense and prosecution in a specially selected case. The high scoring teams from that competition and the winners from the southern Nevada competition will face off on March 8 and 9. The state winners will then compete in the National Mock Trial in Indianapolis May 9-11.
