RETIREMENT SUMMARIES FOR 2013

The monthly magic for us of doing the interviews we do is the motivation each provides us. There is no such thing as the only way to enjoy retirement. Each retirement is as varied as the person, and each is perfect for the individual making that choice!

In January we learned about Elinor Jones, a go-to-volunteer for Make-a-Wish Foundation. Her work changes people's lives.

February brought us Bozidar Djordjevic, PhD, a scientist in exile, a brilliant cancer researcher whose mission now is seeking adequate means to engage seniors in meaningful ways, helping to fulfill their unfulfilled desires.

In later issues, we reviewed the variety of activities retirees have undertaken. We interviewed a wonderful veteran from WW II who took us back to his POW experience where he learned the war was over when the Germans opened the door to the vastly overcrowded boxcar he was in and then walked away.

We interviewed a number of fascinating people:
* a local "rags to riches" entrepreneur who is still going strong in the business community;
* a successful builder, father of seven, to whom the word "retirement" does not exist;
* a world-wide, in-demand engineer who still travels the world, but now enjoys the companionship of his wife on these trips;
* and finally a local realtor/broker and his wife who, although officially retired, are far from idle, continuing to make a difference in the lives of all those they touch.

Now we would love to interview YOU!! Yes, YOU!! Drop us an email and we'll arrange a phone interview, after which you will receive a copy of what we write. We print nothing unless approved by the interviewee. JOIN US!! It's an encapsulated version of your legacy, and it's fun to do!!

YOUR LEGACY RECORDED ON CD AND SOFT-COVER BOOK

A new year has begun!!
Now is the time to think about the legacy you want your family to have.

How Will You Be Remembered?

Everyone wants to make a positive contribution, a positive mark on the world.
When asked, "What do you want to be your legacy?" most of us would say that we want to be remembered well, remembered as having been a loving and good person who was loved in return.

We all, each one of us, wants to be remembered. It's a part of knowing and being known. In the case of our legacy, it is a direct correlation to the eternal nature of how we are designed.

When we think about our legacy, it is an opportunity to think beyond ourselves to the benefit of others, to help instill a sense of purpose in the present. What greater gift can you give your family than the gift of your experiences in life, lived as you lived them.

Let us record, transcribe, and professionally edit your Legacy.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HAVING US RECORD AND/OR WRITE YOUR LEGACY, SEND US AN EMAIL
(gail@coachability.com or edtopar@gmail.com),
AND WE WILL SEND YOU MORE INFORMATION.

FRIENDSHIP: AN ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE by Andy Rooney
FRIENDSHIP

ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE

by Andy Rooney

If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis:

They're written by Andy Rooney , a man who had the gift of saying so much with so few words. Enjoy.......

I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.

I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

Make 2014 your year of friendship!

TAKE A BREAK AND LAUGH ABOUT IT.....
Late Night Lecture.....

An elderly man driving his car was stopped by the police at 3 a.m. and asked by the officer..."What are you doing out at this hour of the night?"

The man answers..."I'm on my way to a lecture about alcohol abuse, and the negative effects of smoking and keeping late hours."

The officer says..."Really. And who would be giving such a lecture at this hour?"

The man replies...."That would be my wife."
