This beautiful Saturday afternoon with temperatures in the 70's is a delightful contrast to the 90+ temperatures of last week. I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! We are excited about the Legacy Autobiographies we're working on and hope you will join us. Whether you choose to have your Legacy recorded or have a soft cover book for your family, I am certain your family will be very appreciative! The nice thing is that the softcover books can be updated at very little cost! I do wish I had more specific and personal remembrances from my parents. Most of us were brought up in an era where our parents didn't discuss their pasts. This is an opportunity to pass along your history to your kids! Plus it is fun to do!

BOOK REVIEW
THE MAGIC OF BELIEVING, Claude Bristol
|
THE MAGIC OF BELIEVING, Claude Bristol(The final installment!)
For those of you who do public speaking, you will enjoy Winston Churchill's recommendations.
Winston Churchill never made a speech of importance unless he made it before a mirror first. It's what I call a super-charging method of stepping up the subconscious forces of the speaker so that when he appears before an audience those forces flow out to and affect his listeners.
By using the mirror, you are creating a picture of yourself, your words, etc.
Enthusiasm is very contagious and can readily be transmitted to others if one is bursting with it. The mirror technique is a simple and effective method by which a person can strengthen his belief in his own ability. It becomes a master method by which the mighty forces of the subconscious mind can be employed to influence those with whom you are dealing.
Stand in front of a mirror, fully erect, breathe deeply 3-4 times until you feel a sense of power, strength, and determination. Look into the very depths of your eyes; tell yourself that you are going to get what you want - name it aloud so you can see your lips move and you can hear the words uttered. Make a regular ritual of practicing before a mirror, practice doing it at least twice a day.
Put your favorite sayings or quotes on your mirror where you can see them every day. As you stand before the mirror, read your quotes and keep telling yourself that you are going to be an outstanding success and that nothing in this world is going to stop you.
Don't forget that every idea presented to the subconscious mind is going to be produced in its exact counterpart in objective life, and the quicker your subconscious gets the idea, the sooner your wish becomes a reality.
Emerson wrote that every man carries in his eye the exact indication of his rank. What did he mean? Your mirror shows you the person others see when they look at you, and you can fashion yourself into any kind of person you would like them to see. If you act the part, you will become the part.
If you have definitely determined what you want and have fixed a goal for yourself, then consider yourself extremely fortunate, for you have taken the first step that will lead to success.
As long as you hold on to the mental picture of your idea and begin to develop it with action, nothing can stop you from succeeding, for the subconscious mind never fails to obey any order given to it clearly and emphatically.

VISUALIZE YOUR PASSION
|
Scott Dinsmore from "Live Your Legend" (www.LiveYourLegend. net) has compiled a list of questions to help you find your passion. In our June issue were the first 10 questions, and in July, 10 more. This issue completes the questions. Answer them to the best of your ability, and you will have a much clearer picture of your passion at whatever age you are. 21. What do your friends always tell you you would be good at, that you should do for a living (i.e., "You would make a great.....")? If you don't remember, then go ask five of them.
22. What are you naturally curious about?
23. If you had a free hour to surf the internet, what would you explore?
24. Think back to when you were 5 or 10 years old. What did you want to be when you grew up? Anything goes. What skills and metaphors do these represent (i.e., pilot may be a symbol for freedom)?
25. If you could write a book to help the world, that is guaranteed to be a best seller, what would the title be? What's it about?
26. What careers did you find yourself dreaming of before you retired? What jobs do others have that you wish were yours?
27. What 3-5 dream jobs or businesses can you imagine that would firmly embody your core beliefs about the world. The sky's the limit!
28. What revolution do you want to lead? What would you like to see changed in the world?

TAKE A BREAK AND LAUGH ABOUT IT.....
|
An old farmer had a wife who did nothing but complain and nag him whenever they were together. The only time he had any peace from her was when he was out plowing the fields, just he and the mule for hours. Obviously, he plowed a lot.
One day his wife decided to bring him his lunch out in the field.
He unhooked the mule and walked with him over to a shady tree to eat his lunch.
The wife immediately starts in complaining and nagging incessantly.
After a few minutes, the mule rears up and kicks the wife in the head with both feet, killing her instantly.
At the wake, the minister could not help noticing that every time a woman came up to speak with the farmer he seemed to be agreeing with them and nodding his head, but when the men came up to him, he appeared to be disagreeing with each of them vigorously.
After everyone left the curious minister asked the farmer just what was said in each of his conversations with the women and men that he observed.
The farmer said each of the women had said what a wonderful woman his wife had been to him and the men wanted to know if the mule was for sale.
