Month/Year
Greetings!

For many of us, fall is like the new year. Whether it is from years of schooling or, for me, teaching, I always regard fall as a great time to make resolutions, to start over, or to start something new in this last third of the year.

There's something magical about the time period of 100 days. Politicians--mayors, governors, presidents--are judged on their first 100 days in office. Did they live up to expectations? Did they fulfill their promises? Are we better off because of their first 100 days?

What could you do in the next 100 days that would make your life better than it is today? What would you love to accomplish in 100 days? I ask because starting tomorrow, Monday, September 21, and ending December 31st, there are exactly 100 days.

I've decided to issue myself the challenge to set 10 goals to accomplish within the next 100 days, in spite of some major distractions such as an upcoming birthday celebration for a friend, my birthday, a three-day high school class reunion,
Thanksgiving, seven days in Colorado during the holidays, visiting my grandson, selling a house, and more that will no doubt appear, but "more" always appears, and "more" is a great excuse to not accomplish what we'd like to accomplish.

You could probably find some areas you would like to improve on in the general categories of mental, physical, social, spiritual, financial, career. Any jump out at you? If so, add them to your goal list.

Using the old SMART acronym, make sure each goal is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results oriented, and Time phased. For example one goal I have is to be more conscientious about blogging. Specifically, "I will blog five times a week over the next 100 days in order to attract 100 new clients," which contains all of the SMART elements.

Anybody else interested in ending this year with a bang and a promise of no need for New Year's Resolutions in 2009? If so, let me know and I'll help you stay on track.

Happy, Happy,
Gail

Feature Article:      Financial Success Through Seminars

by Gail Cassidy

AN "AHA" MOMENT

This week I received an e-mail about a new program about to begin. The bulleted items are very enticing. Who wouldn't want to know any one of them! As I read  the promised benefits, I experienced an "aha" moment.

THE VALUE OF NUMBERS

There are six points here, and notice the commonality among them--"8 keys," "top 10 strategies," "2 best," "2 best," "3 best," "3 best." The numbers catch your eye.

It's like "WOW, if I master only these 2 things, I'll be wealthy, successful, recovered, famous, gorgeous, whatever it is I'm searching for."

ACTUAL E-MAIL

"Well, I'm going to share all my 'secrets' with you (and more) in this program, like...
    ·    the 8 keys to creating wealth faster, easier, and on your terms
    ·    my top 10 personal strategies to help you make your highest income ever, including...
    ·    my 2 best marketing strategies that have launched my income from less than $500 to 6-figures
    ·    my 2 best business strategies that will immediately remove the time-sucks from your day and allow you to focus on the stuff that makes you money
    ·    the 3 best additional income streams that will turn into RIVERS once you implement them in your business
    ·    the 3 best business and success mastery strategies that will empower you to get the most out of ALL your efforts, from your product launches, to your return on investments for your marketing, to your savvy about making your business run like a well-oiled money-making machine."

WHAT IS YOUR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE?

Then I wondered, can each of you reading this newsletter complete one of these numbered items with your own knowledge and experience, e.g., the 8 keys to a successful marriage, my top 10 personal strategies to help raise money for cancer research, my 2 best strategies for maintaining my health, 2 secrets for successful parenting, 3 ways to keep the IRS from your door, 3 ways to beat a speeding ticket, 4 steps to guarantee a quick sale of your house, etc.

What knowledge or experience do you have that you could share with others? Everyone knows something most others do not know. The problem is we take our knowledge for granted, thinking that others must know this also. Not so!

SAMPLES

I'd love to know 3 ways to avoid clutter, 5 steps to becoming a better cook, 2 ways to save money on groceries, 3 hints to simplify airline reservations, 5 steps in house staging, etc.

We all know something someone else would love to know.
