"One Talk Fits All"

One Talk Fits All enables speakers to master the elements of communication
skills and share these skills with customers and clients in a one-hour
presentation format, a three-day communications workshop or any length
in-between.

This talk can be adapted for any group that wants to improve relationships
with their family, co-workers, customers, clients, employees and employers,
community groups--Rotary, Chamber of Commerce--stockbrokers, engineers,
students, business owners, police, teachers, parents, or any business in
existence. A person's success is based partially on his/her knowledge but
more so on their ability to effectively communicate with others. As Maya
Angelou said, "People may not remember what you did or what you said but
they will always remember how you made them feel."

About the speaker: A personal coach since the late 90's and founder of
Tomlyn Publications, Gail Cassidy started her career as a high school
English teacher, worked for IBM as a writer/instructor where she received
their prestigious "Outstanding Contribution" award for a self-paced training
course, then worked for an international training organization as an
instructor and manager. In addition to One Talk Fits All, Gail has also
written Discover Your Passion, Profit From Your Passion, The Validating
Mentor, and You Cannot NOT Communicate, a 14-week course in speaking and
imaging.

HOPE YOU CAN DIAL IN!!
Greetings!

Thank you who have contacted me about my newsletter. I am delighted you are able to use segments of it.  One comment, however, that I have received from some friends I work closely with is "You're covering too much!"

I must say, I agree. Hereafter, rather than covering Seminar Business, Profit From Your Passion, and Mentoring, I will cover just one topic a week--hopefully, enabling people to read all of the way through. I do appreciate your input and would like to hear more--good and constructive. I'm too close to the trees to see the forest or visa versa.

Eventually, I'll add a segment regarding one job I have once a week in a Senior Citizen's residence. I call it Legacy Journaling, and it is so much fun. The ladies are in their 70's, 80's and 90's have the funniest and sadist stories to tell. I'll share one unexpected funny one with you: Our topic was "Scariest Moments," and one rather large lady said she had been a nurse in a local institute. One night the phone range, she answered, said her name and the name of the hospital, and she heard a man lower his voice and ask, "What's your name?" She got all figetedy and repeated sternly, "Mary, Blank Institute." Then she heard this sexy voice respond, "What size bloomers do you wear?" She lowered her voice to match his and immediately responded, "If I tell you, you won't call me back." And he quickly hung up. Nobody had been expecting her response.  What fun!

I hope many of you will be able to join us on the class this coming Wednesday to learn mlore about One Talk Fits All. I have six pages of handouts you may be able to use to come up with your one talk! Not that I'm bribing you--maybe an ethical bribe is okay.

Happy, Happy,
Gail

Feature Article: Element #3 in
"WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE SEMINAR BUSINESS"

by Gail Cassidy
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Two weeks ago, I wrote about "Knowledge" and "Enthusiasm" as being two key elements necessary to be successful in the seminar business. I believe they are both quite obvious, but still worth emphasizing.

Today I'll cover just one element, and one of the most important no matter what you do. I've included numerous quotes which I use frequently in my talks and books. I hope you agree on the absolute importance of having a great attitude about whatever you present to the public.

3.    ATTITUDE:  Attitude is how you see the world, how you feel about the world, and it is controlled by you.

Attitude determines how you carry yourself, how you respond to others, how you are perceived by others.

As Charles Swindoll said,
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.  It will make or break a company, a church, a home.

"The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past.  We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

"I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it.  And so it is with you.  We are in charge of our attitudes."

Read what other famous people have said about attitude:

Eleanor Roosevelt said, "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission."

Mahatma Gandhi said, "No one can take away your self-respect unless you give it to them.

Epictetus said, "No man is free who is not master of himself."

Shakespeare said, "Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so."
He also said, as I've previously mentioned, "Assume a virtue if you have it not."

"Change your thoughts and you change your world." -Norman Vincent Peale.

William James said, "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes."

Henry Ford stated,  "If you think you can or think you cannot, you are right."

John Lilly:  "In the province of the mind, what once believes to be true either is true or becomes true."

Chapman:  "You keep your positive attitude when you give it away."

Former Notre Dame coach, Lou Holtz, said, "Winning is an Attitude."  "Ability is what you're capable of doing," says Holtz.  "Motivation determines what you do.  Attitude determines how well you do it."

Control your thoughts and you control your world.  'Tis true!!  But it does take practice.

Your thoughts can be like a drunken kangaroo, hopping from one place to another.  With practice you can tame that kangaroo in your mind.

NEXT WEEK WE'LL TALK ABOUT PASSSION  . . .
