ADULT FORUM January 19th Led by Lynn Runnells: I would like to invite you to join me to spend some time with the biblical images God-remembering that we are made in the image of God. Please bring a Bible if you can, and a pen. I will supply a list of possible images and the biblical reference to those images, and paper to write on. The Bible is filled with an abundance of fertile images. We will begin by choosing one that is most like ourselves.

VESTRY HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE JANUARY 14 MEETING
- Received a report from the Stewardship Committee that pledges for 2014 totaled just over $131,000 with the number of pledge units increasing from 73 to 77.
- Heard from the Rector that the Search Committee on Children's Ministry has interviewed several candidates with two more yet to be interviewed this week. The Rector expressed his optimism that this matter is nearing resolution.
- Members participated in an examination of the Mutual Ministry Review documents that had emerged from several sessions during the past two years with each member commenting on what he/she saw as accomplishments and challenges/opportunities. This exercise was intended to lay the groundwork for the incoming vestry to address these areas of mutual ministry concern in the near future.
- The treasurer explained new procedures for handling and safeguarding cash collections.
- After discussion, the Vestry unanimously approved the budget for 2014.
- The Vestry said goodbye to outgoing members Jim McCarthy, Ernie Runnells and Sara Stotzer, as well as to wardens Mark Murray-Brown and Carolyn Stewart, and thanked them for their service.

Thank you from Adele
The Admiral would like to thank all parishioners and staff who so generously shared their concern through prayers, cards, gifts, visits, and calls during her recent medical emergency. From death's door to a return to art class is quite a leap in a month and a salute to the Addison Gilbert medical team and the loving care of Catherine McGeary is in order.

MUSIC NOTES
Sunday we will sing "Christ Whose Glory Fills the Skies", "Ye Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim", "Draw Us in the Spirit's Tether", "Strengthen for Service Lord, the Hands", and (honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing".
The choir sings a setting of William Blake's famous poem "The Lamb" by John Tavener. Deeply spiritual, Tavener's music is inspired by his Orthodox faith's music tradition. His music rose to prominence in the public eye when "Song to Athene" was sung at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. Tom Service writes in his Obituary for Tavener in the Guardian: "The Lamb, a choral setting of William Blake from 1982, is another of Tavener's most celebrated works, music that's once heard, never forgotten, its delicate radiance realising a rapt timelessness."
