I hope you're enjoying these early days of fall. The weather in the Mid-Atlantic has been absolutely spectacular. Even Allegra and Ruby, who are indoor kitties, are loving the fact that we can keep our windows open all day. They enjoy relaxing in their sun puddles and enjoying the warm fall breezes. On rare cloudy days, they tend to complain a lot. I don't think they understand why Mom can't just "turn the light on."

I've been using Spirit Essences Holistic Remedies for several years for both my own cats and my clients' cats, with results that sometimes seem almost miraculous. Spirit Essences Holistic Remedies: Help Your Cats Find Their Mojo

I've been using Spirit Essences successfully for several years, both for my own cats and for my clients' cats, with results that sometimes seem to be almost miraculous.

Spirit Essences are the first and only line formulated by a holistic veterinarian and an animal behaviorist. The company was founded in 1995 by Dr. Jean Hofve, a holistic veterinarian with more than a dozen years' experience working with essences in a wide variety of species and settings, and Jackson Galaxy, who helped develop and refine the remedies based on his decades of working with cats. The remedies are constantly updated and refined, incorporating Jackson's experiences as he uses them in his work.

Another thing that makes Spirit Essences unique is that they are infused with Reiki energy. Three years ago, I was asked by Jackson to provide the Reiki that goes into the essences, and I've been doing it ever since. It brings me great joy to be a part of such an exciting company that helps so many animals lead healthier and happier lives.

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to talk about Spirit Essences at the National Capital Cat Show in Chantilly, VA. My presentation was recorded, and I'm delighted to be able to share it with you today.

Living with Cat Allergies

Let's just cut to the chase here: You do not have to give up your cat if you're allergic. It may take time and commitment to make changes in your environment, but it can be done.

When someone is allergic to cats, the most common advice given by physicians is to get rid of the cat. Allergies are also one of the top five reasons why cats are returned to shelters. However, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, nearly 10 million people choose to share their homes with cats and dogs despite being allergic.

Depending on the severity of the allergy, symptoms can range from mild upper respiratory discomfort to a full blown anaphylactic shock reaction.
