We have the same 5K course through Pleasanton's beautiful downtown geared for walkers and runners along with our popular Kids Challenges distances of 1/2K and 1K. And for the runner looking for a longer challenge, we have added a 10K and 15K route. The 10K route takes runners on the scenic Marilyn Murphy Kane trail with the 15K combining the two other routes. All races start and end at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.

With almost 90% of our participants directly linked to our schools and benefiting from the money raised, we created the Spirit Award to acknowledge the school with the greatest participation. When you sign up online, indicate which school you'd like to affiliate with. The school with the highest participation rate will be presented with the Spirit Award on race day with all the race winners. Last year, Walnut Grove took home this coveted prize. This year, the other school principals are competing for the bragging rights and want to bring it home to their campus!
To date, the PPIE Run for Education has raised over $140,000. Funds raised from last year's race contributed to class-size reduction and to support technology on all our campuses.
Our goal for this year's 3rd Annual Run for Education is to write a check for at least $100,000 to contribute to the critical educational programs PPIE supports. Help us reach this goal - sign up for the Run for Education at www.ppierun.com. Your children win, your school wins, and who knows? your principal could even win the Spirit Award!
