Greetings!

I hope you are keeping warm and dry, wherever you are.  We made it through the Great Atlanta Ice Debacle relatively unscathed.  Steve, my husband, had a rather long drive at 6.5 hours to go 17 miles, but he was one of the lucky ones. He actually made it home!

I have lots to share with you this issue.  I've got a free enamel removal tutorial for you and an update on how my video project is coming along.   I've added some classes to my schedule here in the USA, and also five classes in Europe this spring!  Be sure to check my class schedule for dates and locations!

Enjoy!

DVD Update

As most of you know, I have been working on producing two instructional videos. They are Enameling on Silver Clay and Enameling on Copper Clay.  It's been quite the learning curve, But I'm happy to report that the videos are coming out great!

We completed filming in November, and are now deep in post production.  Final editing of the Silver DVD is now complete.  All that is left is menu structure, authoring of the DVD master to be used for replication, and the packaging and insert designs.   We are about half way through principal editing of the Copper DVD.

Initially my plan was for two 1-hour DVDs. I upped that to two 1.5-hour DVDs after my successful Kickstarter campaign.  Turns out I am not so great at estimating how long it takes to present projects.  Each video came in at nearly 4 hours each!!  They are both going to be 2-DVD sets!   Each set provides a comprehensive education in metal clay and enameling.  I know you're going to love them!

I am currently estimating that these DVDs will be released sometime in March.   Both Copper and Silver will be released at the same time.   It's been a long ride, but I guarantee they will be worth the wait!  I'll be sending out an announcement as soon as they are available.

 Pam East Custom Texture Stamps

Pam East Texture Pairs

I used commercial stamps to produce my work for a few years, but eventually reached a point where I wanted to create my own. I just wasn't getting exactly what I wanted with the stamps that were on the market, so I started creating textures using Photo-polymer. I am now making a limited selection of my personal designs available through QuikArt Texture Pairs. To create my textures, I begin by painting the designs with black ink on white paper using Chinese brush painting techniques. I use a variety of brushes and stroke patterns to bring my unique visions to life. Generally speaking, my paintings are 9" x 12". I then scan them into the computer, reduce them, and crop them to capture the very best parts of the design. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I do!

The binders burn away when fired, leaving pure metal. Make earrings, pendants, and other jewelry, guided in topics including molding the clay, construction techniques, firing, and finishing. All levels welcome.
