BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

Twin Rivers Unified School District

1.  RECOGNITION - Student Board Members for the 2014-2015 School Year

 

The Board of Trustees recognized Student Board Members Caleb Druckhammer (Rio Linda High), Breana Engram (Grant High), Luis Leyva (Creative Connections Arts Academy), and Geneva Speakman (Rio Linda High) for service rendered as Student Board Members during the 2014-2015 school year.

 

 

 

 

2.  RECOGNITION - Welcome and Introduction of Newly Hired Classroom Teachers and Support Staff for the 2015-2016 School Year

 

District Administration introduced newly hired classroom teachers and support staff for the 2015-2016 school year.

 

 

 

 

3A.  RECOGNITION - Resident Artists    

 

In November, 2014, eight Any Given Child Resident Artists partnered with 12 TRUSD elementary teachers, 2nd - 6th grades from eight sites. The Resident Artists represented the arts in either music, theatre, visual arts, literary arts or dance.

3.  RECOGNITION - Alphabet City / Milton 510 "DO ARTS" Award

   

"A Day in the Life" is a collaborative project between Milton 510 Bowens and Maria Dickerson. The unit will be displayed at the TRUSD District Office June to August, 2015 and culminated with an Art Show on June 6, 2015.      

                                                       

"DO ARTS" represents an artist that is developing world-class innovative creative advocate beings. TRUSD presented this award of recognition to Maria Dickerson, A Day In The Life Project, as the role model and second recipient of this award.

 

 

4.  PRESENT - Dual Language Immersion Program Presentation, Madison/Noralto/Johnson Elementary Schools

 

A highly effective, research based program that closes the achievement gap, produces students that are bilingual/biliterate and 21st century learning by providing instruction in both English and Spanish throughout the school day.

The Board of Trustees approved all personnel recommendations. The recommendations included new hires, promotions, resignations and leaves.
